Day 3 - 5am start. We flew to Kuala Lumpur and after Noodle Soup Count #2 (at the airport) we boarded another plane for Langkawi. Met Matasha (Matt and Natasha) at Malibest Resort, where we were staying. We had some trouble checking in - for some reason they couldn't find our reservation until Tash came over and spoke with the receptionist. Our accommodation was fairly basic but couldnt be beaten for location - right on a long stretch of fine sand and warm clean water in Langkawi. There was a very relaxed atmosphere here - lots of hawkers trying to sell you watersports but they arent very persistent and give up as soon as you say 'no thanks'. We had lunch at an Indian place just off the beach - do not recommend but Kirk's Indian curry was nice. The girls went shopping while Matt and I played a few games of pool over a few beers at an Italian place on the beach. We had some beach time before going for dinner at 3 Amigos (Mexican place the average to good food). We went for drinks at Babylon (great chilled out beach bar with live music) with a ladyboy fire throwing show. Drinks at Sunba afterwards - a modern, smokey after hours club with louder than necessary live music and beers at prices you'd expect from a club. We had a few drinks there but the atmosphere is vastly different to the other bars on the beach.
